just another update....

Hey everyone! Well, for some reason, I cannot find the cord to download my pictures from my camera onto the computer, so you'll have to do with another update before you see the pics! So much for an illness free spring - Gavin spent last Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the hospital with dehydration. Poor guy - he couln't keep anything down, it was sooooo sad! It took a lot of IV fluids before he finally started going potty again! He spent more than a week home with me, so the transition back to daycare was a little rough - it didn't help that his first day back he got bit, the second day he tripped on the sidewalk and twisted his ankle, and he also had an allergic reaction to the sunscreen - rough week. but all is well and he's feeling much better, back to eating like the human vacuum that we're used to. He lost over two pounds through this whole ordeal - maybe he feels the need to gain it all back right away! I have some really cute pics of him pushing his IV pole up and down the hallway... where in the world could that cord be?!? Anyway, I'm starting to prep for another busy summer. I had told myself we were going to try not to plan so much for the weekends, and try and spend more time at home; that plan doesn't seem to be happening this summer, but that's ok - we like to go places! I hope all is well with everyone! We're really starting to countdown the days to Krista's wedding... I can't wait!

Update

Hey Everyone - sorry it's been so long since I've been able to udate. I just wanted to add that Gavin got his stitches out, and did so good! He just sat on my lap and hardly made a sound!!! He's been saying a lot of new words, which is so fun to hear in his little voice! He loves playing outside, thank goodness the weather is finally cooperating. We are going to go and look for a play system this weekend, I'm afraid he won't ever want to come in once that is up! I'll have to post pictures from our sleepover with Lauren and Ellie, I haven't had a chance to download them yet. We had SOOOOOOO much fun! We were kind of snowed in for the night, but we did make it to Pizza Hut - which Ellie was trilled about! "I LOVE PIZZA" she yelled when they brought our food to the table!! We played dress-up, did our nails, watched Cinderella and all slept in the basement! The three kids shared all the toys really well and got along great - no major meltdowns were had! We can't wait to do it again!!!! I love having those little girls around - plus, I don't think Gavin and Owen are going to ever want to try on my dresses or do my fingernails - I guess you never know! I'll get some pictures up sometime this week... we are currently battleing another illness. Gavin got sick on saturday (threw up in front of all of my friends at my jewlery party) that was a lot of fun! THANK YOU again Alison for cleaning that all up!!!! what a good friend! Since then he's had a fever and has just been really tired. I kept him home with me all week, hopefully he can go to daycare tomorrow - that staying up all night at work and then being awake all day with him is for the birds - thank goodness that was only one day. He seems to be feeling a little better today, he finally starting eating again - hopefully he has an illness free summer!

Gavin's big "OWIE"

So, while I was away on my girl's vacation, G managed to fall down and crack his head open! Thank goodness he has such a wonderful daddy, who to note, is not afraid of blood.... to come to his rescue! So now, Gavin will gladly point out his "owie" to anyone that cares to listen. His stitches come out Thursday morning - hopefully that goes ok. Poor little guy, his first battle scars!

Bahama Mama's!!!

I just got back from my three day cruise for Krista's bachelerette party - and we had sooo much fun! Four of us left Wednesday morning, and spent the afternoon at the Magic Kingdom. We had so much fun, and got to see quite a few things in our short time there. We picked Carrie up at the airport that night and then left Thursday morning for the ship! We spent all day Friday in the Bahamas. We went to the resort Atlantis and enjoyed some of their water attractions and also their beautiful beach! I would definitely visit there again. It was so nice to spend time with my sisters and just relax and enjoy the sunshine. I couldn't believe there was still snow on the ground when I got home! When I called Bryan on Sunday, he informed me that he had to bring G to the doctor on Thursday because he fell and hit his head and needed stitches! Poor little guy - of course Bryan handled it like a champ - no problem for super dad! So Gavin has three little stitches on his forehead - I'll get a picture and post that too a little later!

Happy Easter everyone!!! Although it looks a whole lot more like Christmas outside, we managed to have a very fun Easter weekend. Saturday we made G's very first snowman! It's been too cold most of the winter to spend a lot of time outside, so he really enjoyed being able to play in the snow! Gavin helped push the snow into balls and then helped to level the snowman out, but then spent most of his time shoving handfuls of snow into his mouth and sayinig "mmmmmm"... must have tasted really good! I know I've said it a million times, but I am sooooo ready for this winter to be over - last year it was 80 degrees outside at this time!!!!
Anyway, after playing in the snow, the boys took a nice warm bath together... it was too cute. Grandpa and Grandma have towels with the boys' names on them, so they got all snuggled up together afterward... they are just so much fun! (at least when G isn't beating up Owen in some fashion... we're working on being more gentle!) Pretty soon O will be fighting back, then what's G going to do!
Sunday we spent a very nice day in Morristown with the Krause's where we had a great meal and as always great company, it was really nice to see them again. Just like last year, Gavin would not nap while we were at Arlen and Suzanne's.... it's just too much fun! But again, just like last year, he crashed in the car before we were even out of town.
He has had such a fun personality lately. He's been laughing and just generally happy most of the time. I can't believe all of the words that he knows; just last night he walked past his bowling pins and said "bowl ball mama" He just seems to be learning so much so fast - I just try to take everything in, it just amazes me! Can anyone believe he's going to be 2 in 5 months! I'm sure that will bring a whole new set of "fun" into our lives - in the form of tantrums, potty training, and I'm sure a few more tantrums! For right now, I'll focus on the daily hugs and kisses I'm showered with!

A new room for Gavin!

I am so excited that I'm almost finished with Gavin's room! I love how it turned out! Bryan and I painted on Sunday while Gavin napped in our bed! We still need to put up the trim and I need a few more things, but it looks so much better than it did - it finally looks like a little boy sleeps there!

Little G!

We had Gavin's 18 month appointment yesterday, and everything looks pretty good! He was so brave during his shot and the blood draw, he just laid there and smiled at the nurses, of course they raved about how cute and sweet he was... he has everyone fooled! We are still waiting to hear what his hemoglobin is, it was low a few weeks ago, so hopefully that's gone up and it's nothing to worry about. If I haven't heard by now, I'm going to assume all looks good. He's been saying a lot more words lately, and imitates EVERYTHING we do! He loves to help me around the house, especially sweeping. His new favorite thing is playdough - although I'm assured a tantrum when it's time to put it away. I should try and get a video of him dancing to post - it's hilarious! He did great with Grandpa and Grandma while we were on our trip, and I think we are pretty much back to our normal routine again - although I spend most of my day dreaming about the beach.... I really really hate winter.... I'm really looking forward to my upcoming scrapbook retreat - there's 11 of us going, and I'm soooo excited to have an entire weekend to try and get caught up! It was G's scrapbook that inspired me to decorate gavin's room... I'll post those pics next! Hope everyone is well!
