What?!? No more monkey!

So.... I have called Gavin "monkey" since the day he was born. It's a very fitting name for him, as he seems to be able to climb over anything! The other day after I picked him up from daycare, I asked him "hey monkey, did you have a good day at school?" Gavin replied by putting his head down and shaking it, saying "mommy... you no more call me monkey, just Gavin." Then later on in the night, I said to him "hey monkey doodles, it's time for supper."
To which Gavin replied, "mommy.... no more monkey doodles... JUST GAVIN!" Could it be that he really doesn't want to be my monkey anymore?! Lets hope that this is just a phase and that I can keep my little monkey a bit longer!

mother nature....

I am so completly amazed by the absolute strength of mother nature - the Red River flooding is just amazing to me. I feel very privledged to have been a part of the evacuation/rescue of the MeritCare NICU. I was able to go to Fargo during the night and help out- I've never seen so much water in my entire life! I can't really explain the feeling that I had when we were going through town in the ambulance... it was sooo quiet - like a ghost town. My heart goes out to the families that had to evacuate their loved ones from the hospitals and nursing homes, and also for all those that have lost valuables to this terrible flooding. Lets all say some extra prayers tonight for the people living in Fargo and Moorhead - I hope those levys can hold back all that water!

Congratulations!!!

We just want to take a minute and congratulate Brandon and Sara on their recent engagement!!! We are sooooo thrilled for you guys - marriage is such a wonderful thing! And Sara - I think you have one heck of a guy (plus he's super cute if I must say so myself!) {wink,wink}

We are excited to have you as a sister (and auntie to Gav) and can't wait for all the memories we are going to make! Love you two!!!

last minute....

So Krista and I have decided that we need a get-a-way and have planned a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico! I am so excited to lounge around on the beach and just enjoy the warmth!

new computer.....

So after 5 and a half years, our laptop finally died on us. We knew it was coming to the end, we just held out as long as we could! Last night we made a trip to best buy and got a new one. We had to compromise a bit.... Bryan wanted one that was good for "gaming"... seriously, he's such a nerd sometimes and I wanted one that was "cute." The one Bryan picked out was so incredibly ugly I just couldn't bring myself to buy it - so we got the next best thing that made us both happy, (although it wasn't the cute little white one that I picked out!) I hope this one lasts as long as the last one. And I hope Nick is able to transfer all of my files from the old one - what would I do if I lost all those pictures... the first thing I'm doing is putting them all on cds - I've learned my lesson! Now I have to get all caught up on my e-mail and blogging - I have some fun pics to post from out Leech Lake weekend with my family!
