Happy Father's Day

We had a really fun father's day weekend! Friday, Nick and Ang and the Girls and Brandon came up and we went to the ski show, which was a lot of fun. Afterwards we went to the new playground and Gavin got to go on the swings and down the slide! Lauren liked the spritzer and Ellie couldn't get enough of the slide - it was a lot of fun! The girls even helped me give Gavin his bath and get him ready for bed - such good helpers! I was supposed to work all weekend, but I ended up getting put on call, so I got to spend Sunday afternoon with my dad. And FINALLY Gavin started crawling! It was pretty exciting to see - he just finally figured it out! Now of course he is all over the place, and starting to get much faster at it. Last night we went to St. Cloud to pick out Bryan's gifts - there was no way I was even going to attempt to pick out the golf club he wanted. After shopping we drove through St. Ben's - which was kind of fun - but sad at the same time. It made me want to go back to school! I'm counting down the days to this weekend - we get to go wedding dress shopping for Krista!!!

Fun in the sun!

We are thouroughly enjoying the nice warm weather we have been having! Gavin's favorite things to do are sit on the patio with a book, play in the grass with Rigley, go for walks, and he just discovered the lake! We went out to the cabin last weekend and he went for his first little dip in the water - he loved it! Next time I'll actually bring his suit and we can get all the way in. We've been walking to the beach almost every day too. Gavin also has started at his new daycare center. He gets to go and play two days a week, and so far it's been working out really well. Although it was a difficult transition for mom, he seems to be enjoying it. They do fun activities everyday, and he gets to be around other babies his age. Overall, we've had a really good start to our summer!

9 month check up!

Gavin and I just got back from his 9 month check up - wow - can you believe he's nine months old! He weighs 20 lbs 8 oz - exactly 50th percentile. He is 29 3/4 in tall - that's 90th percentile! No wonder everyone comments on his height when we go places! The doctor said everything looks great. We get to introduce meats now - so another yummy step for Gavin! He's pushing himself up on all fours and rocking, so we're thinking crawling is probably not far behind. He scoots really well on his butt - and tends to go backwards when he's on his belly! He's constantly saying da-da-da-da! His top teeth don't look like they have far to go before they are down - it'll be nice to get a break from this teething soon! Better go play with him before I have to leave for work. Have a great holiday weekend!

We LOVE play dates!

We had so much fun yesterday! We met Chris and Garett and their cabin in Big Lake. Gavin was so excited to have someone to play with. They both just smiled and screached at each other - it was hard to tell who was screaming, they sound so much a like. We tried to get Garett to teach Gav how to crawl - but he's just so quick! I can't wait to see Gavin's little butt moving like that - Garett you are just way too cute! Now I can't wait to see Garett, Connor and Gavin all together - we missed you Connor! Hopefully this becomes a regular thing - I think Gavin enjoyed having company his own age!

Mother's Day

We had a fun mother's day weekend. We spent sunday afternoon with my mom and the evening with Bryan's. Gavin got his first ride on the "tractor" - which I think he really enjoyed! it was nice to just relax and not really do anything. We also got to meet Dixie - Nick and Angi's new puppy - she is so cute - and so tiny! She just laid between Gavin's legs in the grass. Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

So BIG!

He's just getting so big! I can hardly believe it, I was just looking at him last night as he was going to bed, and he just looks one, like a little boy, no more baby, and two - so much like his dad! He's babbling (or screaming!) up a storm, still no crawling, but that will come. Next week we get to go visit Garett, so I'm hoping he'll teach him how to crawl! Gavin got another tooth, so now the bottom two are up. He loves to be outside too - last night he sat in his saucer while Bryan grilled - just playing for the longest time. Our big move!

Wow - is April really almost over - where did this month go! We have been really busy moving this month. We decided to be economical and move off of the lake this year. We are renting a house just down the road - we're trying to get settled, but there seems to be a never ending assortment of boxes to sort through! eventually I'll get it all where I want it, for now, we just live happily in chaos! We are hoping to buy a house within the next year. Gavin is doing great - he adjusted really well to the new house. He's teething right now - and I'm convinced they are all going to come in at once - poor guy - that just cannot feel good. He's a busy little guy - always playing with something, his favorites happen to be expensive electronics - he loves my cell phone and Bryan's fancy remote control! He's not crawling yet - but hopefully soon - he kicks and scoots, but can't quite get up on all fours yet - eventually he will, and then I'll be wishing he would just stay where I put him! We went for a long walk tonight - had supper at the beach - we're not on the lake anymore, but thank goodness we are not far away. Gavin loves to ride in his stroller - hopefully we'll make good use of that this summer. It's so nice that the weather is finally nice enough to go out and about. I guess I better call it a night - just wanted to give a little update. Have a great week!
